Eve

Sometimes digital images are not simply pixels put together like a mosaic - they seem to have a third dimension holding an explosion of metaphors and other allegories which no ordinary eye can identify. This below is one of them... shot by myself towards the middle of summer 2005. The girl is an ex-girlfriend of mine who gently offered to pose for me and the result? One of my favourites shots all throughout my humble experience in the world of photography.

I received all sorts of feedback on this one including; "it screams 'woman'", "it is the ultimate femmininity.. the lipstick reminds you she's a woman and her hand on her belly says fertility. femminine and fertility - only a woman", "it definitely doesn t portray PREGNANCY tho!!", etc.

As Stanley Kubrick said about his 1968 masterpiece "2001: A Space Odyssey", you are free to speculate, as you wish, about the philosophical and allegorical meaning of Eve.

yes, femmininity and fertility but also mysterious.

Actually I've had a good look at your site.. and personally i prefer the black and white versions because against a monochrome background the red nails and lips are really striking. It's lovely anyhow..

I discriminate avidly - in favour of monochrome (which does not necessarily mean black and white) :)
